Senior Merchandise Planner

Job description

The Job purpose is to work closely with the buyer to identify specific products to increase sales.


Working at a senior level oversee a designated collection of items and guide staff to create an appropriate merchandise mix to optimize sales volume and profitability, based on emerging market trends, history, revenues, inventory and other business components, while meeting the assortment strategies established by management. 


•Implement seasonal merchandise plans by monitoring weekly sales, analyzing style performances, and market trends; fill assortment plans, ensuring that merchandise concepts are aligned with assortment strategies.


•Lead the product development and financial planning for key product lines, reviewing selling at the retail level to provide analysis for future assortment plans, line plans, etc.


•Participate in the development of annual Financial Plans, merchandise assortments, sales-to-stock plans, and marketing strategies in conjunction with Buyers to support yearly planned company objectives.


•Plan and revise strategies for merchandise flow, based on shipping dates, seasonal/fiscal calendars, and monthly unit parameters.


•Support the conceptual develop of future lines by generating style recaps, trend analyses, and competitive market research reports.


•Participate in weekly planning meetings to ensure the achievement of monthly unit plans are met.


•Review weekly sales performance to identify potential re-order opportunities and recommend styles that require markdowns.


•Assist Buyers in selecting and analyzing Seasonal Buys to ensure an appropriate product mix for each market and each brand.

Requirements

Educated to degree level in either Fashion or Business is desirable


5 years minimum experience working as a merchandiser


Expert analytical skills


Confident in both Word and Excel with the ability to create in-depth spreadsheets and manage data

Clear communicator

Personable and approachable

Extremely organised with a good attention to detail


Previous experience with a gymwear/yogawear brand preferable **
